Help a Veteran Raise Funds

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/28/health/legg-leukemia-lung-transplant/index.html

Here is an article that chronicles the recent journey of a double lung transplant.  It is about my quest to raise enough money to name a research grant after the young man who lost his life and gave me his lungs.  His mother lives in Titusville, FL.  She is holding a benefit there on November 3rd at the American Legion I believe.  Her name is Julie McCarthy you can find her on Facebook.  Any support that can given to her would be great. Thanks for your time.

Dissolution of Military Network program

Regretfully, Veteran Rescue has decided to end its Military Network program. We hold no animosity towards Military Network. To keep up with our current programs, please check this website often. New developments happen on a frequent basis, with multiple veterans offering their expertise. We hope to see great progress in the next 10 weeks!

Home Depot Foundation Grant

My non profit Veteran Rescue was honored to receive a Foundation Grant from Home Depot.

If you know of any Veterans that needs landscaping, flowers, trees, flooring, patio work, etc please contact me asap.

I just spoke with Home Depot Manager here in Lake Mary, Fl. He confirmed how the Home Depot Foundation works for Veterans. The non profit or the Veteran being helped by them brings in a copy of the 501c3 letter to the Home Depot closest to Veteran. Ask for store Manager, let them know you are a Veteran in need and preferably have a list of items needed, sq ft of any flooring, color scheme, etc. No worries if you don’t have a list, the manager will make one while you walk around store pointing out items needed. A small project the store manager handles in house in a few days. Big project goes to corporate to approve takes up to 3 weeks. This goes for any state.

I will provide my 501c3 letter upon request by email (scanned pdf) or fax so Veteran may have instant access and get their project completed quickly. I will do my very best to help you.

Find your nearest Home Depot store, take my letter and they will provide what is needed if approved. It is up to the individual store managers to do this on behalf of the Foundation.

This goes for all other 501c3 non profits. Just provide your letter to the manager. Home Depot employees who are expert in their areas donate their time on weekends, usually 1 for 8 hours.

They get it all built, installed, planted, etc. They are doing this for Veterans, and their families. They have money left over and asked us how many homes we were helping renovate, landscape, etc.

This is God’s blessing and we can help a lot more Veterans and their families this year. This also gives us more media coverage and exposure for donations to help us purchase the Veterans Ranch in Arcadia.
